MHS welcomes Mrs. Holly Dungan!
Melbourne High School welcomes a new science teacher, Mrs. Holly Dungan, to its faculty. Mrs. Dungan started her 14th year of teaching at MHS, having moved here from Highland High School. She brings with her a long list of qualifications that include receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Education and her Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas. She is also certified to teach anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. For Melbourne, Mrs. Dungan teaches environmental science and advanced placement courses in biology and physical science.
She has been married to Joe Dungan for 7 years and has 2 daughters, Shae and Syncie, and 2 stepsons, Josh and Caleb. Her favorite book is the Bible because of its “great instructions on how to live life” and her favorite song is “Burn Baby Burn” by Mercy Me. Her favorite part of teaching is meeting the students, who Mrs. Dungan describes as the “future culture,” and being a small, hopefully good, part of their history.
Mrs. Dungan tries to live by her favorite quote by Edward Teller: “When you get to the end of all the light you know and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.” Without a doubt, Mrs. Dungan provides her students with both options as she helps them reach their full potential, making her the perfect fit for MHS!
