Students at Melbourne High School raised $166.84 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation last week during their “Mum Wars.” First, each class designed its own homecoming mum and hung them up in the Student Union. Then the student body voted for their favorites and helped support the Komen Foundation by placing money in class jars. The 7th grade class raised the most money and the 8th grade won first place for design. Pictured are the Melbourne High School cheerleaders, who sponsored the homecoming activities, and the president of each class, grades 7-12.
