Thanks to a grant from the Arkansas Arts Council, TheatreSquared, Northwest Arkansas’ professional theatre company, visited Melbourne High School’s campus on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.  The company, which was recently named by the American Theatre Wing as one of the top 10 emerging theatre companies in the nation, performed their production titled The History Show in front of an audience of students.  The show is a fast-moving, informative comedy about American history from the early 1700’s to present; the 45-minute play is filled with dance, song, and high energy as actors bring history to life for high school students across the state.  Mrs. Amanda Patrick, who teaches drama for the district, was instrumental in bringing the production to MHS, which was a Bearkatz hit among 7-12th grade students.
