Last week, students in Melbourne High School's National Beta Club attended an annual convention held in Hot Springs. Beta Club, which is a nationally recognized honor society, hosts the event to encourage students to compete in the academic areas of math, English, science, and history, and more; this year, there were many new competitions, such as robotics, advertising design, and living literature. All students performed well and were recognized for their efforts. Priscilla Dufresne, a senior, won 3rd place in jewelry-making, and Mesa Barger and Tyler Wortham placed 4th in the banner competition.
