Melbourne’s 12th grade students were recently trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques. School Nurse Whitney Cooper began the training by showing a video that demonstrated the basics of CPR before giving students an opportunity to work “hands-on” with the mannequins.   Each senior was required to demonstrate their CPR skills by practicing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as well as chest compression methods with the mannequins. Cooper also demonstrated the appropriate way to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Senior Bethany Graham expressed her opinion of the training. “I thought it was very informational and useful. I especially liked learning how to use an AED device.”
