Every year, a week is set aside for all FFA chapters around the country to share what the organization represents and how it daily impacts the lives of its student members. The goal of FFA is to promote premier leadership, personal growth, and career success and its members strive to uphold its motto: “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, and Living to Serve.” Melbourne High School’s FFA Chapter celebrated the week by cooking an early morning breakfast for school staff and members as well as serving lemonade during lunch time to students in grades 7-12. Also, as a special treat for its members, brownies and ice cream were provided. To conclude the week, students took the short walk to the elementary to read books to the young children and answer any questions they might have about FFA.
