2018 Fall Royalty

Melbourne High School celebrated Fall Royalty and a Decade of Football during the week of September 17th -21st.  Students and faculty prepared for the week by decorating walls, footballs, fences and preparing for pep rally skits.  The entire district showed their support of the Bearkatz by dressing up throughout the week on Out of This World Monday, College Day Tuesday, Character Day Wednesday, Thursday’s Twin Day, and Bearkatz Pride on Friday.  All of this was in preparation for Friday night’s Fall Royalty ceremony and game against the Yellville-Summit Panthers. 

The Fall Royalty ceremony took place before the game on Friday night, September 21st.  The 2018 Fall Royalty was:

7th grade: Kaitlyn McCarn & Ryan Rapert

Kaitlyn is the daughter of Kevin and Keri McCarn.  She is a member of the basketball team, cross country, and track team.  She is the 7th grade class president.  Kaitlyn is also a member of “Bearkatz Against Drugs” student organization.  She attends Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.

Ryan is the son of Pat and Jessica Rapert.  He is running back and defensive back on the 7th grade and JR High football teams.  Ryan is also a member of the basketball team and baseball team.

 

8th grade: Addyson Kimble & Nathan Woodall

Addyson is the daughter of Rickey and Brooke Kimble and Mandi and Shannon Milligan.  She is a member of the FCCLA.  In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family, riding the ranger, and being on her phone.  Addyson attends Melbourne Church of Christ.

Nathan is the son of Ty and Bridgette Woodall.  He is a wide receiver and defensive back for the JR High team.  Nathan is also a member of the baseball and trap shooting team.  He is a member of Student Council and FCA.  Nathan attends Melbourne First Baptist Church.

 

9th grade: Cassidy Coleman & Caleb Conrad

Cassidy is the daughter of Chris and Heather Coleman.  She is a member of the junior high basketball team and track team.  In her spare time, Cassidy enjoys taking self-defense class.  She attends New Hope Church of God.

Caleb is the son of Phillip and Chrystal Conrad.  He plays on the offensive and defensive line for the junior high football team.  He is also a member of the trap shooting team and archery team.  Caleb is a member of FCA and attends Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.

 

10th grade: Katie Callahan & Eli Harrell

Katie is the daughter of Jeremy and Jenny Callahan.  She is a member of FCCLA and FBLA.  In her spare time she enjoys hanging out the friends.  After high school, Katie plans to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field.

Eli is the son of Jody Harrell and Erin Motes.  He is a wide receiver and defensive back for the senior high football team.  He is also a member of the basketball team and FCA.  In his spare time, Eli enjoys hanging out with friends and watching football film on Huddle.  After high school, he plans to attend college and pursue a career as a game warden. 

 

11th grade: Riley Provence & Aaron Pettyjohn

Riley is the daughter of Tricia Provence.  She is a member of the Lady Bearkatz basketball and softball team.  She is also a member of the quiz bowl team, Beta Club and yearbook staff.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends, volunteer work, and visiting the beach.  She attends First Baptist Church in Cave City.  After high school, she plans to attend college and study biology and go on to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon.

Aaron is the son of J.R. and Tammy McGehee.  He is a wide receiver and defensive back for the senior high football team.  He is also a school fire marshal.   Aaron enjoys fishing, hunting, swimming, dancing, and hanging out with friends.  After high school, he plans to attend college and pursue a career in law enforcement.   

 

12th grade: Shelby Morris & Andrew Pitts

Shelby is the daughter of James and Audra Morris.  She is a member of the basketball and softball teams.  She is also a member of Beta Club, FFA, History Club, and Drama Club.  In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, fishing, and sleeping.  After high school, Shelby plans to attend Ozarka College. 

Andrew is the son of Kenny and Lisa Pitts.  He is a wide receiver and defensive back for the senior high football team.  He was named as an All-Conference player for football in 2017.  He is also a member of the baseball team, where he was named All-Conference as a sophomore and All-State as a junior.  Andrew was also selected to the Democrat-Gazette Three Rivers Edition All-Area team for both football and baseball.  Andrew is a member of the Student Council and attends Melbourne First Baptist Church.  After graduation, Andrew plans to pursue a career in the medical field.

 

2018 Fall Royalty Queen & King: Faith Gold Williams & John Phillip Conrad

Faith is the daughter of Christian and Deena Williams.  She is a member of the MHS Cheer Team.  She is also a member of the yearbook staff, Beta Club, History Club, Drama Club, FCCLA, and FBLA.  Faith attends Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.  After high school, she plans to enlist in the National Guard and attend Arkansas State University to study business or accounting.

John Phillip is the son of Phillip and Chrystal Conrad.  He plays tight end and defensive line for the senior high football team.  He is also a member of the Archery team, Beta Club, FBLA, History Club, and FCA.  He is an active member of the Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.  After high school, John Phillip plans to attend the University of Arkansas and pursue a career in architecture. 

 

Members and coaches of the 2008 football teams were brought out on the field during halftime to be recognized and thanked for their leadership, traditions, and foundation they put in place a decade ago for all other Bearkatz football teams that followed. 

The Bearkatz closed out the fun-filled week with a victory over the Panthers with a final score of 47-14.
